Rentech is one of the world's leading synthetic fuels Technology and development companies. In its over 25 years of conducting business, the company has developed and patented the Rentech Process; an advanced version of the well-established Fischer-Tropsch process. With its proven Technology, Rentech produces high-performance, ultra-clean synthetic fuels, that are environmentally friendly biodegradable, adaptable to existing infrastructure, and stable in storage. A diverse and high value set of products are derived from the Rentech Process such as: JP-8, Jet Fuel, Ultra-low Sulfur Diesel Fuel, and Specialty Chemicals-surfactants products. Rentech's process transforms under-utilized hydrocarbon resources such as: Coal into valuable alternative fuels. More commonly referred to: As Coal-to-Liquids, or Gas-to-Liquids. The technology converts sysnthetic gas, a combination of hydrogen and carbon monoxide made from natural gas, coal, petroleum coke, biomass and municipal solid waste into Ultra-clean fuels and Chemicals. Rentech's corporate initiative of vigorously pursuing Clean Energy Solutions is a benchmark of the company towards helping the world reduce its dependency on oil, and lower emissions, meeting our nation's growing energy needs, and creating value for our stakeholders. Having enough energy is one thing, but producing it in a clean manner, and having an environmentally cleaner end product is even more important. Rentech Inc, currently has one production facility located in Commerce City, CO which utilizes natural gas for the production of synthetic fuels and chemicals. They have several commercial projects in their pipeline where they intend to use fossil feedstocks such as coal(which we have unlimited supply) for the production of alternative fuels and chemicals. They have a Joint Development Agreement with Peabody Energy for the potential development of two synthetic fuels facilities located at or near their mines. In addition, they maintain a coal supply agreement with Peabody Energy and they have an equity option in the potential coal gasification conversion of their ammonia fertilizer facility, Rentech Energy Midwest Corporation (REMC).
