About Me, Hallo! This is Ellie, the Artist featured on this Web Page. I wish to tell you a little about me and how it came about to create this page "Ellie's Artwork Web Page". On this page I will display and exhibit my artwork and bring you many free products as I find them, that I have benefited from what they have to offer and I think you will too. The fact that the darn paintings did not get sold it is not a big deal. Original Art is a commodity, not many poeple can efford and the ones that do, they rather buy work by the old masters. My paintings' values will continue to appreciate and in the future I might give myself another chance to create yet another page, where you might be able to view another set of my Art; yes, I do have several other beautiful pieces that I wanted to show you, but for now the pages will stay the same, it costs money to put up a new set. Maybe some day I will reorganize and create two pages; one for originals and the other for prints, where the prices could be reasonably less; like $300/$400 each instead of $8,000/$15,000ea. I am sure they will be more affordable to you. I decided to start painting again when I finished our community college, where I live, but there came a point where I had enough paintings that I could efford to part and share their beauty with other art lovers and get back some of the money I have spend over the years. So, I created this page to offer my collections, the children's and poetry books for sale. Thus my page was born; to sell my works, to collect the fees and pay the taxes. Those days, when I started, I found out the hard way, that when you decide on something; things do not end there. Papers had to be filed and a place had to be found to present my work. I knew, I was not going to open up a brick and morter gallery, so the next best thing was; the "INTERNET". At first, I bought a computer, I rented space on someone else's Web Page for a time, I gave them my artwork and they gave me a finished Web Page. That was Ok, for a while, but it was not what I wanted. So I jumped to the second step. Where, all of my problems started, one after the other. Facing them took time, money and energy. I had to program and compile a Web Page and present my work on it. Meaning; buying software, an editor to correct my mistakes (there were hundreds of them). A camera, a scanner, a printer, etc.. Got my own domain and someone to host my web page. It took me six(6) months to learn the HTML language and the utility program, to create the 3D Art Exhibit(the revised version you see on the page). 3,000 poeple have downloaded the original 3D Exhibit and the helper program. It is a very expensive venture to be visible. Since I started, new and revised ways have appeared, that the programmers are creating daily. I must, on a daily basis keep up with them or my web page will end up in the waist basket. Among my other works, I must read, buy books, and constantly revise the content of my page, in addition to my new ideas to use my artwork, I do want to get back on the easel, but find it impossible. There are only 24hrs in a day and to fit all these demanding duties in them, it is a cruelling task. I am well known, where I live, in my two family house since 1960, where I have had numerous tenants. I have worked for three companies, R.H.Donnelley, the yellow page publisher, Marine Midland Bank, down in Wall St., R.R.Macy's, the Corp. Statistical Dept. for several years each, all in NY where I commuted from Long Island. I raised two Boys and I am a grandmother from one. Now I keep busy with my Web Page and my house. I hardly have time to belong to anything that it is offered to me. I always believed whatever it is out there for sale, belongs to somebody. It is a matter of time, when they will find each other and my paintings will find their rightful owner; eventually. That is why, I will keep them on the page, so this somebody does not miss the opportunity to look at them. Museums and galleries do not know me, no one has sponsored my work and I never had the time to exhibit them anywhere, on account of my limited resources and age that does not permit me to run around; here and there. I think the value of the paintings is justified; they are small in size and painted under a magnifying glass, sometimes with one sting of hair on the brush; painfully difficult, but worth the effort. The paint straight out of the tube was mixed without additives; difficult to apply. The oil colors are exquisitively put on the cotton canvas; work that it will never be repeated again. I am not getting any younger. I could never had an open studio for visitors to come, on account of the tenants, but if anyone is interested to view any of the collections, arrangements will be made to accomodate that. I know their price is not "5 & 10 cents each" but these paintings can only interest a true lover of Art; a Collector, who will buy them for their rarerity and beauty to add them to his/hers inventory, for that person money is not an object. In case you want to contact me; leave a brief message with your number on my machine and I will get in touch with you, as soon as, possible or email me your questions. One more thing, I was born in Greece, came in the USA, in 1953, half a century ago and kept busy ever since, raising my kids and now with my work. That is all. The rest of me is on my page. ____________________ Mrs. Ellie Kondy 73 King St. Floral Park, NY 11001 516-437-7379, gmasellie@695dial-up.com _____________________
