CHILDHOOD FRIENDS
Two heads together bend over
a book reading and giggling
at what they were reading.
Laughing for what they thought
was a funny story.
Two heads together trying to
solve a riddle someone gave them.
Two heads wishpering secrets
they had heard about another
friend or about a story.
Two heads bend over a school
problem, trying to use their
knowledge to make sense out
of it. Anxious to find the
solution and get a good grade
the next day at school.
Two heads bend over a project
that one alone could not have
accomplished, but both somehow
managed to finish and get it
ready for the 'show and tell'.
Two kids hand in hand going
everywhere, learnign things
little minds curiously
question and wait for answers
from grown ups; with lots of
experience.
Two kids going swimming and
hiking to the near park.
Going biking and to the
jim to show off their
knowledge of the equipment
on the ground.
Two kids competing and earning
honors for their knowledge
and strength that they got
by helping each other, by
solving the difficulties of
what was presented to them.
Two kids; happy and carefree
spending their hours away
from family together, learning
and becoming close as one
mind and body, as two peas
in a pot.
Experiences acquired those
early childhood years are
knowledge stored in their
minds that nothing can
erase. No matter how old
these kids get, these
experiences will remain
theirs for ever and ever.
Blessed the kids who were
fortunate to have friends
and build a lasting
frienship with happy
memories that they could
recollect when old and too
busy to create treasures.
CHILDHOOD FRIENDS are diamonds
that do not get tarnished,
that do not get forgotten,
that do not get destroyed.
When nurtured and revisited
to reminisce together those
happy carefree days.
CHILDHOOD FRIENDS are the
strength that places a
foundation in our lives
to build upon.
They are the roots that build
and mold our character
and make us who will be
in the future.
Note:
I hope now that you are little, you do not waste your lives without one,
or two good and trustworthy friends, to build your own treasures for
your later years to remember with fondness and love that is yours
and yours alone. When, I visited some of my treasured friends, even
thought we are not the carefree kids anymore, I somehow felt strength
coming from that visit, that I do not get from other sources. ellie.
